Pretty sure LMP1s aren’t supposed to do that.

Didn’t a Prototype eat the wall on Eau Rouge last week?
![]() 05/09/2018 at 19:22 |

Yeah, another BR1, lost electrical power in the Eau Rouge/Raidillon transition, and went straight on into (and under) the tire barrier.

Yea, Pietro Fittipaldi broke both legs and will miss the Indy 500 because of it.

Surprised I haven’t seen this video addressed yet. I want to know if this was due to damage or if they have some major changes to make before Le Mans.

This video just came out, and there’s a belief that (because it came very close to hitting a marshal post - a marshal reported on Reddit that they started running from the post as soon as they saw it go over) the FIA and ACO did not want footage of this coming out (hence only the aftermath being shown).
We also don’t see how it started, by the time the car’s in view, the nose is already off the ground.
Did Isaakyan go wide on his own, hit the (slightly raised) white strips, and cause the blowover that way? (That would still indicate, IMO, an aero imbalance.)
Did the Toyota ahead spoil Isaakyan’s downforce, causing the nose to lift and causing the blowover? (That would be the exact way that the five other notable blowovers, in the 1998-2000 timeframe, happened. A crest (or in this case a reduction in incline) is reached while front downforce is spoiled by a car ahead, air gets underneath, and a blowover happens.)

Not sure if it’s the same source but I saw it on twitter much earlier today (I don’t know your definition of “just” but certainly early enough that something could be written by now). Lots of speculation that his car was damaged on some of his earlier offs.

Wasn’t one of the F1 drivers just commenting recently about some changes that made Eau Rouge more dangerous?

What’s French and Dutch for Flughsplatz?

Yeah, I saw it on Reddit a few hours ago (by “just” I really meant, today, not when it happened).
